Montreal, c’est si bon! This French-speaking city is considered the cultural capital of Canada, and is a cosmopolitan celebration of Québécois style. A horse-drawn carriage ride around the cobblestone streets and grand buildings of Vieux-Montréal will give you a taste of European flavor. The Basilique Notre-Dame is a confection of stained glass, and the Plateau Mont-Royal district will delight you with its quaint boutiques and cafés. Dig in to a massive plate of poutine to fuel up for a tour of the epic Olympic Park. Officially, Montréal is the most populous municipality in Quebec and the 2nd-most populous in Canada. Originally called Ville-Marie, or “City of Mary,” it is believed to be named after Mount Royal. The city occupies most of the Island of Montreal, as well as many smaller peripheral islands, most significantly Île Bizard.
Montréal never fails to charm with its irresistibly unique blend of European chic, avant-garde attitude and North American urban effervescence. In this vibrant metropolis of culture and fine dining, skyscrapers soar next to craft shops, and visitors and locals alike enjoy the world-renowned international festivals. It is a unique and fascinating city offering exciting entertainment and cultural diversity. An island set along the almighty St. Lawrence River, Montreal is known as the city built around a mountain. Enjoy the spectacular views from the mountain lookout, when on a clear day you can see forever.
The condensed week is full of activities for you to attend, such as Committee Meetings, Product Presentations Lunch and Learn and the Awards Breakfast featuring the presentation of ADSC’s prestigious Safety Awards. We look forward to welcoming you to Montreal!
